FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry, in particular cellulose production.
SUBSTANCE: sulfur dioxide is brought into reaction with magnesia raw material (e.g. cake brucite ) with grade of 50-600 mm and initial pH 1.5-2.5. Process is carried out up to pH 2.8-3.5 and content bonded sulfur dioxide 47.0-49.5 % followed by separation of exhaust gas from solution. One-step process is carried out at 70-900C.
EFFECT: method of improved processibility due to decreased number of process steps.
