FIELD: converter engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed dc drive has series-wound electric motor shorted out by reverse-connected diode whose cathode is connected to that of thyristor; anode of the latter is connected through switching reactor to first plate of capacitor and to first lead of second reactor; anode of reverse-connected diode is connected to minus terminal of power supply; newly introduced in proposed electric drive are six resistors, contactor, two comparators, AND gate, threshold voltage source, and control unit.

EFFECT: enhanced service life and reliability, reduced impact of supply voltage characteristics on drive operation.
