FIELD: thermal welding method and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding low melting point fibrous sheet material into gap between pair of rotating cylinders, at least one of cylinders having welding protrusions of predetermined pattern on its outer surface; heating fibrous sheet material by means of welding protrusions; applying pressure to fibrous sheet material by welding protrusions for forming in fibrous sheet material of baked portions having pattern corresponding to that of welding protrusions. Isolating material is applied to portions of rotating cylinders free of welding protrusions for forming outer surface coating. Isolating material has lower heat conductivity than welding protrusions and may be elastically compressed by pressure applied by rotating cylinders. Fibrous sheet material fed into gap between rotating cylinders is compressed by isolating material for forcing out of inner air from fibrous sheet material and heated, with following applying of pressure by welding protrusions for producing of thermally welded connection.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing formation of baked portions at high speed even in fibrous sheet material of relatively high volume.
