FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: nonwoven material has randomly interweaving fibrous cloth made from continuous staple filaments and binding filaments. Fibrous cloth has embossed pattern and is bound by chemical binding agent, by physical retaining or combination of such means. Sheet fabric is readily torn by hands in direction transverse to process direction. Method involves forming fibrous cloth from randomly positioned stretched continuous staple filaments with following pattern embossing of cloth and fastening along the whole length by chemical agent to obtain sheet material with classification index below 250 g per square sheet with side length of 20 cm and readily tearable by hands in transverse direction. Method allows pressure-sensitive adhesion tape with adhesive applied to one side to be produced by such method. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of material. 10 cl, 12 tbl
