FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to combustion compounds for use in internal combustion engines, in particular to a method of running gasoline and diesel engines employing additives in fuel compositions providing additional electrostatic pressure in cylinder to raise thermal efficiency and to lower toxicity of exhaust gases. Liquid hydrocarbon-based fuel composition comprises small amount of fuel-soluble organic additive depicted by formula or , wherein R1 represents substituted or unsubstituted aryl, alkyl, or alkenyl radical; R2 hydrogen, yak or alkenyl radical; and X is substituted or unsubstituted amino group, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, alkyl, or alkenyl radical, which is characterized by molar refraction value at least 5.0·10-5 m3/mole. Use of additive reduces wear of engine by 1.5-2 times, increases lifetime of catalytic filters, and eliminates harmful effect on spark plugs.
EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of gasoline.
