SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a diesel fuel composition which contains an additive in the form of a quaternary ammonium salt formed by reacting a compound of formula (A) and a compound formed by reacting a hydrocarbyl-substituted acylating agent and an amine of formula (B1) or (B2), where R is an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or alkylaryl group; R¹ is a C₁-C₂₂ alkyl, aryl or alkylaryl group; R² and R³ are identical or different alkyl groups having 1 to 22 carbon atoms; X is an alkylene group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; n equals 0 to 20; m equals 1 to 5; R⁴ is hydrogen or a C₁-C₂₂ alkyl group. Described also is a set of additives for the diesel fuel composition and use of the quaternary ammonium salt additive in the diesel fuel composition to enhance fuel performance.

EFFECT: preventing or reducing deposits in a diesel engine, particularly fuel injectors, thereby increasing power and/or fuel saving.
