SUBSTANCE: the locking device has a breechblock with lugs and a piston spring-loaded by a return spring made for axial reciprocating motion, as well as a component of breechblock motion and locking. The breechblock is made for rocking relative to the axis perpendicular to the barrel axis. Stops are made on the barrel or on the cartridge chamber, they are engageable with the breechblock lugs at locking of the device, and the component of the breechblock motion and locking is located on the gas piston, it may the made in the form of a slider with locking and unlocking stops, one of the breechblock lugs is made for engagement with the locking stop at locking of the device, and with the unlocking stop - at its unlocking. The component of breechblock motion and locking may lo be made in the form of a tie-rod hinge-installed on the gas piston and engageable with the breechblock. The component of breechblock motion and locking, may be made in the form of a shaped lug with two working surfaces, positioned in a shaped recess of the breechblock, one working surface of the lug can be engageable with the breechblock lug at its locking, and the other - with the shaped recess of the breechblock at its unlocking. Provision is made for at least three stop lugs and barrel stops engageable with them.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of breechblock locking and service life of the device.
