FIELD: machine engineering, namely tools used at manual arc welding by means of consumable electrodes.
SUBSTANCE: electrode holder includes electric current supply sleeve in which are arranged: unit for connecting with welding cable and unit for mounting and fixing electrode. The last unit is provided with insulation protective caps and handle. Electric current supply sleeve is in the form of hollow cylinder. At one side of sleeve in diametrically opposite openings end portion of clamping shaft having inclined turning and flywheel is arranged. Said turning, rocking support in the form of semicircle and slit in sleeve wall are arranged in plane normal relative to axis of shaft and they form unit for mounting and fixing electrode. At other side of sleeve unit for connecting with welding cable is arranged; said unit is in the form of connecting cone. Cone opening is provided on end of welding cable; connecting cone is mounted in sleeve. Back end of said cone serves as base for rocking support.
EFFECT: improved design, lowered mass of electrode holder, enhanced efficiency of welding process.
