ELECTRODE HOLDER FOR MANUAL ARC WELDING Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: manual arc welding. SUBSTANCE: electrode holder has hollow handle, inside of which there is cable with tip, made in the form of two steps cylinder with bulge on butt surface. Tip is mounted inside pipe-shaped body and is engaged with step bush, fixed inside the body. Tip and cable are capable to turn and axial motion and are engaged with spring, mounted in body. Body of electrode holder has pipe shape with pressing grip on its butt. Inside the body there is rod with pressing grip. Rod is mounted inside the body and its pressing grip is connected with control lever. Pressing grips have spherical inserts, that hold electrode. Control lever brings rod away from hole for electrode. In the case spring, located between insulating gaskets is pressed. One of gaskets has pit, that is engaged with bulge on butt surface of cable tip. Electrode is put in hole and it is tightened by inserts. Hole is made in the form of prism. Inserts are changeable. There is gasket between body and deflecting screen. EFFECT: electrode holder is used in manual welding. 4 cl, 1 dwg
