FIELD: sugar industry.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises liming of melt liquor, carbonization and filtration thereof. Lime milk is divided into two parts, one of which is diluted with water and carbonized to form calcium carbonate suspension. This suspension and other part of lime milk are routed to liming of melt liquor.
EFFECT: reduced melt liquor carbonization time and increased filtration capability of purified sugar-containing solution.
