FIELD: regulation of thickness of sheet material produced by drawing from melt, for example in machines for vertical drawing of glass.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes micro-controller, pickup for measuring thickness of belt material, secondary converter, normalizing converter; control unit, pickup for measuring revolution number of drive unit of machine for drawing material; unit for controlling electric drive. First inlet of micro-controller is connected with inlet of normalizing converter; first outlet of micro-controller is connected with inlet of unit for controlling electric drive. Other pair inlet-outlet of micro-controller is connected with unit for connecting to upper-rank computer. Micro-controller predicts thickness of material belt by extrapolation according to two values of material thickness. User sets time moments for measuring thickness of material.

EFFECT: lowered error at processing signals of material thickness, possibility for creating distributed system for controlling several machines for drawing sheet material.
