FIELD: glass industry; construction industry; furniture and motorcar industries.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertinent to the fields of glass, construction, furniture and motorcar industries, and may be used in machines intended for cutting of silicate glass and mirrors. The technical purpose of the invention is improvement of quality of glass cutting and prevention of a considerable force impact effect at separation of the cut out parts of glass. The method of glass cutting includes formation of a stress concentrator and creation of a through crack of the glass. Formation of a stress concentrator is conducted ahead for a some calculated value of a formation of a through crack of the glass. At that at creation of the through crack of the glass the concentrator is subjected to the sign-alternating cyclical loads. The fixed value of the ahead of the process of formation of a through crack of the glass is provided by regulation of parameters of the vibration exciter. The glass cutting device includes a body with the cutting element placed on it, which is fixed on the body by means of a bracket with a capability of adjusting motion along its axis. In the body wit a capability to move in a radial direction there are a vibration exciter and a linked with it breaker made in the form of a rod with a roller and all of them are mounted on an elastic suspender. The vibration exciter is made in the form of a cylindrical body, in which a rod with a capability of rotation and a replaceable plate are located.

EFFECT: the invention ensures improvement of quality of glass cutting and prevention of a considerable force impact effect at separation of the cut out parts of glass.
