FIELD: ice breaking technique; breaking ice cover by resonance method with the aid of hovercraft.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is performed with the aid of hovercraft running at resonance speed. Ice cover is additionally acted on by radio radiation at frequency of 109 to 1010 Hz by means of generator which is located on extensible rod on board the ship. Generator forms hydraulic impact under highest point of crest of flexural gravitational waves and amplitude of this wave is increased when hovercraft runs along edge of ice cover.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of ice breaking.
