FIELD: electrical engineering; single- or multiple-motor ac drives.
SUBSTANCE: power system of hysteresis motors has interconnected dc power buses, voltage conversion unit in the form of three-phase rectifier, and three-phase voltage inverter. Hysteresis motor is connected to output of the latter. Power section of soaking unit is inserted between power buses and has storage capacitor, charge and discharge switches, additional charge switch, and additional storage capacitor. Control inputs of discharge, charge, and additional charge switches are connected to respective outputs of control unit. Capacitors are charged to desired voltage level by driving charge switch and additional charge switch in conduction. That soaking unit is ready to afford enhanced excitation is recognized by completion of charge of each capacitor to voltage equal to that across rectifier and by reliable cut-off of charge and discharge switches (thyristors). Gating and then blocking pulses are applied to control input of discharge switch at desired moments governed by control unit.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and enlarged functional capabilities.
