METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF FLOAT FOR DEEP-WATER FISHING GEAR AND FLOAT MANUFACTURED BY SUCH METHOD Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: commercial fishing.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method of manufacture of float for deep-water fishing gear comes to its manufacture of material of uniformly closed porous structure and small specific weight in form of one or more preliminarily prepared blanks. First blanks in form of cylinders or prisms with through inner longitudinal hole along central axis are made from material and then each blank is subjected to preliminary stress by compressing to form float member. If float is made up several members, the latter are assembled and connected to each other, and then surfaces are leveled up to make float streamlined without sharp edges and longitudinal hole is machined, and in 20-30 days after machining, additional compacting-hardening is carried out by lowering the float starting from depth of 200 m with gradual increase of depth of immersion. Preliminary compression of blanks can be done by uniformly compacting porous structure with decrease of initial sizes of blanks till setting of material is stopped. In case of single-member float, face at angle of 45° can be removed from both sides of end face surface of blank before preliminary compression. Connection of members preliminarily stressed by compression can be made non-split. Non-split connection of preliminarily stressed blanks can be done by gluing. Machining of longitudinal hole can be done by short time power action in direction to center of float along central line from both end faces.

EFFECT: provision of quality floats for repeated use at high depths, reduced expenses at fishing, prevention of deformation of floats in use.
