FIELD: variable-resistance devices.
SUBSTANCE: proposed structures are used in variable-resistance devices to provide for varying electrical resistance during movement and in case of pressure fluctuations; variable-resistance device has outside connected electrodes using bridge circuit arrangement in the form element incorporating polymer and particles of metal, alloy, or reduced metal oxide. Element has first level of conductivity at quiescent state and transfers to second level of conductivity when stress applied by tension or compression, or by electric field varies; in addition device has means for building up voltage across cross-sectional area of element proportional to desired level of conductivity.
EFFECT: ability of polymeric composition to withstand high-density currents even in absence of complete metal current conductors.
