FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly in skin pass cold rolling mills.
SUBSTANCE: backup roll includes barrel with central cylindrical portion and adjoined to it peripheral portions with cone chamfers further passing to cylindrical end portions. Cone portions has conicity degree from 1:500 to 1:100. Length of peripheral cylindrical portions consists 0.18 -0.4 of barrel length. Invention provides enhanced strength of micro-geometry of polished or notched surface of rolling rolls.
EFFECT: lowered number of operations for changing rolling rolls of mill, possibility for using waste backup rolls.
