FIELD: working materials by cutting, working shells of rope drums of cargo lifting machines.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes tool head with multi-blade tool; profile of cutting edges of said tool is matched with profile of worked surface. Tool head is mounted in cross slide of lathe rest with possibility of rotation by inclination angle of helical line of worked surface and it is kinematically connected through gear reduction unit of changeable gear wheels with spindle of lathe. In order to reduce labor consumption, apparatus is provided with lead shaft mounted by means of bracket in carriage of lathe rest and having movable joint with gear reduction unit of changeable gear wheels. Gear ratio of changeable gear wheels is determined according to given formula.
EFFECT: lowered labor consumption at lathe operation.
