FIELD: production of briquettes used in iron-reducing processes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in preparation of mixture of iron- and carbon-containing compounds and one of carbon-containing agent: coke breeze at simultaneous heating to temperature of 600-900°C in rotary counter-flow tubular furnace; coke breeze is proportioned in the amount ensuring content of carbon in mixture of 150-400 kg per ton of wastes; heated mixture is subjected to pressing for production of briquettes at density of 2.5-5 t/cu m. Prior to pressing, coal-tar pitch or ground brown or bituminous coal or products of coke and byproduct process or petrochemical process are added to heated mixture in amount of 3-10% of mass of mixture.
EFFECT: increased productivity; increased degree of metallization; reduced dusting and separation of toxic agents in the course of reducing iron.
