FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary heat treatment of mixture of base material and reducer till moisture content is not more than 0.05%. At that, preliminary heat treatment is performed in weakly reducing medium at temperature of 550-850°C, in which content of gases of carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) complies with the condition CO2:(CO+CO2)=0.5-0.9. Then treated mixture is supplied to fixed tube furnace in the form of solid flow along furnace section and reducing firing of mixture is performed without air access at controlled temperature by contact-free heating of mixture with fuel combustion products and with separate production of zinc product and metallised iron containing product. At that, contact-free heating is performed from unloading zone of furnace in the direction opposite to mixture flow movement direction. At that, heating temperature is controlled in mixture flow direction by its monotone increase from 500-800°C to 1100-1150°C.
EFFECT: decreasing flow rate of reducing agent and fuel for production of zinc and metallised iron containing product at simultaneous environmental safety by utilising production wastes.
