FIELD: metallurgy; manufacture of quickly-hardened metal fiber used for reinforcing the composite materials, building materials in particular on base of cement matrix.
SUBSTANCE: metal fiber has base and at least two anchors secured with it and made in form of discrete mineral aggregates positioned in base; base is formed by mixture of amorphous and fine-crystal phases. Used as discrete mineral aggregates are silica and/or cement fractionalized from 1.02 to 32 relative to thickness of fiber base. Content of mineral aggregates ranges from 3 to 24 vol-%. Surface of metal fiber may be protected by layer of material which is resistance to oxidation, for example, tin, zinc, nickel or chromium.
EFFECT: suppression of caking effect; enhanced strength of composite material due to anchorage of fiber.
