FIELD: general engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of connection of shaft with wheel hub includes making of keyway in wheel hub and assembling of shaft and hub. Prior to assembling, plastic deformation of key to value of key material memorized shape effect is carried out at cryogenic temperature. After assembling, natural heating of key to ambient temperature is carried out Safety key joint consists of key, shaft and wheel hub in which keyway is made. Key has surface layer of material with memorized shape effect, being made of prismatic form with slide fitting of key in shaft.
EFFECT: provision of working of key without breakage, simplified design of key joint, increased strength and service life.
