FIELD: muzzle devices for decreasing the recoil of small arms.
SUBSTANCE: the device has a movable barrel with a ring stop in the rear part and gas escape ducts in the muzzle part, spring-loaded by a return spring relative to the ring stop of the guide cylinder rigidly fixed on the rear wall of the cylindrical housing, having a front open end face, in which a gas-dynamic piston is positioned made for free motion both inside the housing and partially on the outer part of the barrel. On the rear side the piston has a concave surface forming with the housing an expanding chamber, on the front side - the shape of a cone expanding towards the barrel muzzle end and engageable with its surface with the tapered parts of wedge breechblocks moving perpendicularly to the barrel axis in the slots of the pivot journal fastened on the muzzle section of the barrel, and overlapping the entire surface of its cross-section, and in the central part - the cylindrical surface engageable with the barrel outer surface and partially overlapping in the extreme left-hand position the gas escape ducts of the barrel and opening the full section of the gas escape ducts in the extreme right-hand position.
EFFECT: enhanced adaptability to manufacture and compactness of the device, reduced specific quantity of metal per structure, and enhanced efficiency of use of the energy of powder gases.
