FIELD: processes and tools for cutting metals, such as hard-to-form steels and alloys.
SUBSTANCE: metal cutting tool includes body with tip secured to it by means of clamp and screw. Cutting tip is connected with DC source. Semiconductor layer insulated relative to tool body is arranged under said cutting tip. In order to enhance tool strength, tool is provided with electric current supply plate mounted under semiconductor layer and insulated relative to tool body. Semiconductor layer contains mixture of molybdenum disulfide and liquid glass. Electric circuit is closed through clamp, screw and tool body.
EFFECT: improved strength of tool.
