FIELD: manufacture of building materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention provides water-retention additive for use with Portland cement, lime binder, or Portland cement-lime binder, which simultaneously manifests plasticizing properties relating concrete mortar mixes. Additive contains 3-5% of calcium silicate CaO·SiO₂ fine powder with specific surface 200 m²/kg and, additionally, 95-97% of yeast production filtrate with content of solids 4% , density 1.014 g/cm³, and pH 6.5.

EFFECT: ensured high water-retention capability of concrete mortar mix and simultaneously high plasticity and placeability.
