FIELD: electrical engineering; sealing parts in cable engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed tape designed for covering and sealing part, such as spliced cable joint, has both gel layer and rubber layer. Gel can be brought to compressed state due to flexibility of rubber layer with the result that excellent sealing is ensured. Rubber layer is in most cases wider than gel layer which makes it possible to dispose adhesive strips contiguously to gel layer.
EFFECT: facilitated application and improved sealing properties of tape.
