FIELD: fire-fighting, particularly for producing fire-extinguishing powder adapted for extinguishing different combustible materials.
SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing potassium chloride with carbon white and alkali metal carbonate taken in amount of 1.55-1.65 % by weight; mixing thereof and treating with liquid alcylhalosilane taken in amount of 1.46-1.55 by weight up to simultaneous neutralizing of liberated hydrochloric acid which is resulted in coating potassium chloride and carbon white particles with organosilicon film with oriented carbonic radicals arrangement so that film thickness does not exceed that of monomolecular layer; heat treating the obtained hydrophobizated powder under 80-150° temperature within 2.5-4.5 hours and cooling thereof up to normal temperature.
EFFECT: prevention of filter and vacuum pump components corrosion.
