FIELD: earth metal technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides sorbent with summary water-accessible pore volume 0.23-0.25 cm3/g and specific surface 69-70 m3/g, whose preparation comprises treating peat with potassium hydroxide, separating solid and liquid phases obtained, while gradually lowering pH of liquid phase to 2.0-2.5 to release gel-like precipitate, and fractionally collecting supernatant followed by combining solid phase with gel-like precipitate for their subsequent carbonization and activation. Method of recovering uranium and actinide compounds from radionuclide-contaminated natural and man-caused objects comprises desorption of radionuclides from object with fulvene acids-containing solution and solution obtained from treatment of the object is passed through sorbent in order to bind radionuclides into solid phase within the sorbent, which is then cemented and buried.
EFFECT: reduced amount of wastes and achieved efficient decontamination of objects.
