FIELD: plastic working of metals, possibly manufacture of blades, for example of gas-turbine engine.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making slits between flat portion and technological base of blank in plane normal relative to blank axis; rolling blank; cutting off technological base and fins; determining width and length of slits according to given relations, namely determining width of slit depending upon maximum thickness of profile of blade flat portion in root section and upon thickness of edge of flat portion of blade and determining length of slits depending upon distance from center till edge of blade flat portion.
EFFECT: possibility for making accurate-size blanks for rolling, elimination of swellings in zones near thick butts of blade.
