FIELD: polymer production.

SUBSTANCE: vinylidene difluoride/hexafluoropropylene copolymer contains from about 1 to about 66 wt % of hexafluoropropylene and has crystallinity about from 0 to 25.7 J/g. When copolymer contains 1-30% hexafluoropropylene, its melting point is determined by equation: melting point = 162.16-3.192[hexafluoropropylene, wt %]. Copolymer is characterized by melting endotherm determined by equation: ΔH = 54.81-1.53[hexafluoropropylene, wt %] when it contains from higher than 28.5% to below 36% hexafluoropropylene. Its melting ΔH value is near zero when copolymer contains 36-66% hexafluoropropylene.

EFFECT: enabled preparation of copolymer showing excellent suppleness, low-temperature workability, stability of solutions, and ability to form films from aqueous dispersions at ambient temperature.
