FISH PROTECTION STRUCTURE OF WATER INTAKE FACILITY Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: hydraulic structures, particularly structures to protect young fish from entering into water intake facilities.

SUBSTANCE: fish protection structure comprises fish detaining screen formed as horizontal guides arranged in layers in waterway depth and elastic members connected to upper parts of guides; means for screen holding in working position made as air channels with perforations formed in upper parts thereof, connected to compressed air source and arranged on waterway bottom at an acute angle to longitudinal axis of headway. The structure comprises fish and refuse withdrawal tray arranged in upper screen part in parallel with air channels and communicating with fish withdrawal means. Guides are made as perforated webs and connected with tensioning ropes. Guides and tensioning ropes form fish detaining screen. Tensioning ropes extend at an angle to longitudinal axis of headway and inclined towards water intake channel. Fish and refuse withdrawal tray is formed of elastic web and connected to guide of upper layer by lower edge thereof. Width of each upper layer beginning from bottom one increases in direction from fish and refuse withdrawal tray.

EFFECT: possibility to create effective conditions for fish detaining and withdrawal out of water intake facility.
