FIELD: aeronautical engineering; flying vehicles with lifting propellers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in shifting the pair of blades from axis of rotation to periphery by means of centrifugal forces. Blades are shifted towards axis of rotation due to kinetic energy of revolving rotor of propeller. Kinetic energy is converted into thrust force of pulling members and blades are locked near axis of rotation of lifting propeller. Lifting propeller of varying diameter has blades with spars, system of hinges and hub freely revolving on bearing shaft. Rods inserted inside spars of one of pairs of blades are engageable with propeller hub through hinges. Spars and blades freely slide over rods along radius from axis of rotation. Their motion is limited by thrust locking unit. Motion of blades towards axis of rotation is performed by means of cables. Blades are pulled when brake disk is pressed to drum surface excluding its free rotation on shaft at revolving rotor of propeller till motion of slide block of thrust locking unit beyond stop.
EFFECT: simplified construction; enhanced efficiency.
