FIELD: mechanical engineering; starting preheaters.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices designed for heating of internal combustion engine before its starting at operation at below zero ambient temperatures. Proposed starting preheater contains accumulating tank, heat-insulating casing, electric pump, inlet and outlet pipelines. Electric heating element and temperature controller are installed inside accumulating tank on detachable flange, thermal switch installed on branch pipe of outlet pipeline and system precluding mixing of cold and hot heat carrier made in form of partitions and grille installed stationary inside accumulating tank. Electric heating element provides heating of heat carrier in accumulating tank after long standstill when heat carrier has cooled down. Temperature controller provides ON/OFF switching of electric heating element, thus keeping heat carrier hot. Heat insulating casing provides keeping of heat carrier hot for a long time. Thermal witch provides complete substitution of hot carrier for cold one. Heat insulating casing has channel for mounting and servicing of electric heating element with temperature controller.
EFFECT: provision of prestarting of engine at low temperature, reduced toxicity of exhaust gases at starting and warming up of engine.
