PORTABLE EXERCISER FOR IMPROVEMENT OF DEFENSIVE ACTIONS BY BASKETBALL PLAYER Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: sportive equipment, in particular, exercisers for basketball players.

SUBSTANCE: portable exerciser has casing, column fixed with its vertical part within casing and provided with cross-piece, and cord placed on cross-piece and provided with length regulator. Cord is connected with one of its ends to ball. Column is made T-shaped with cross-piece arm length ratio of 4:1. Parts of column are mechanically detachably connected with one another. Casing is composed of two disks mechanically connected with one another and having two spacers arranged therebetween. Vertical part of column is passed through opening provided in upper spacer and is rigidly joined with its lower end to lower spacer. Cord placed on cross-piece is connected through two pulleys with its one end along longer arm of cross-piece to ball and with its other end along shorter arm to mechanism for returning of ball to initial position. Cord retainer is fixed on mechanism for returning of ball to initial position. Exerciser is additionally equipped with telescopic measuring device for measuring of ball height, as well as for placement and stopping of ball.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and intensity of exercising in working out of defensive actions by basketball player and convenient use due to compact construction, mobility and possibility of establishment in any sportive hall and summer playing grounds.
