SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing branched co-polyimides based on 4,5-bis-(3-aminophenoxy)phthalic acid and aminophenoxyphthalic acids. Branched co-polyimides comprise links distributed statistically in macromolecule of the formula:

; links of linear structure of formula (II): and (III): wherein R means hydrogen atom (H), oxyphenyl or N-morpholinyl radicals and terminal links of structure of the formula (IV):

. Co-polyimides are prepared by co-polycondensation reaction with simultaneous or the following cyclization reaction of mixture of 4,5-bis-(3-aminophenoxy)phthalic acid with at least one aminophenoxyphthalic acid taken among acids of the general formula (V):

wherein Y represents trivalent radical taken among radicals of the general chemical structure (VI): or (VII):

wherein R has above given values in the ratio of 4,5-bis-(3-aminophenoxy)phthalic acid to aminophenoxyphthalic acid among acids of the general formula (V) from (0.99:0.01) to (0.01:0.99). The co-polycondensation reaction is carried out in the melt of at least one aromatic monocarboxylic acid at temperature 110-180°C. Invention provides expanding assortment of polyimides and to obtain materials with new properties. Branched co-polyimides can be used for the development of new polymeric materials compromising thermal stability with possibility for processing and with the presence of the assigned amount of functional groups able to polymer-analogous transformation.

EFFECT: improved preparing method, valuable properties of co-polyimides.
