FIELD: mechanical engineering; manufacture and repair of metal structures.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of application of coatings in manufacture and repair of metal structures, for instance box structures of diaphragms and frameworks of bridges, hulls of vessels. Proposed spray head has inner space and at least two groups of holes. First group of holes is made to create spray cone whose base is pointed to side opposite to direction of liquid feed, and last group of holes, to create spray cone whose base coincides with direction of liquid feed in inner space of head. Through holes are made on one of surfaces in members of gauze. Angular holes are arranged so that distance from holes to end face, ceiling and lower surfaces inside space should be not be greater than 0.7 of radius of trace of head spray cone, and distance between holes in members of gauze should be not greater than 1.4 of radius of cone trace. Anticorrosion coating is applied by delivering protective coating through spray head installed on rigid member at straight and backward translational movement of head driven into each hole, and after application of coating, hole is closed by stopper. If flexible member is used, distance between holes in members of gauze in vertical and from lower row of holes to lower surface should be not greater than (L+0.7R) where L is length of lowered part of flexible member, and R is radius of trace of head cone.

EFFECT: provision of application of coating by pneumatic spraying onto inner surface of closed spaces of metal structures, mainly box section beams of any size.
