FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to guard pans detachably installed in lower aperture of engine compartment and protecting engine unit from impact loads and wear and decreasing contamination of engine compartment. Proposed guard pan has panel with embossed surface, members for fastening panel on car and vent and drain ports. At least one cover plate is secured to panel mainly on lowest section under engine unit members. Cover plate is made of material with heat resistance exceeding that of material of panel. Provision is made for protection of engine unit from mechanical action from outside and heat insulation of panel from high temperature surfaces of engine unit. Cover plate is made solid and is installed over panel with open clearance within the larger part of plate area.
EFFECT: provision of pan suitable for use on cars with contrast temperature of engine unit surfaces, increased service life.
