SUBSTANCE: method is based upon measuring time delay between signal probing surface of coating and penetrating signal passing through dielectric coating and dielectric base and time delay between probing signal and signal being reflected from surface of coating and subsequent subtraction of those time delays.

EFFECT: simplified procedure of measurement.
