FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device that can be used as means for checking neutral conditions of 3-, 6-, 10-, and 35-kV insulated- or compensated-neutral high-voltage lines and for protecting them against induced voltage surges in case of single-phase ground faults in these lines has grounding transformer whose primary windings are connected to high-voltage line under check and are interconnected in star with grounded-brought out and whose secondary windings are interconnected in open delta and connected to grounding resistor; it also has switch and its relevant control unit. Grounding resistor is made in the form of buried resistor cell built of three cylindrical metal electrodes disposed in vertical well coaxially with respect to its axis.
EFFECT: enhanced thermal stability of grounding resistor under sustained ground fault conditions in high-voltage line under check.
