FIELD: electric drives of pumps, compressors, and other installations. SUBSTANCE: two start circuits of series-connected starting diodes 16, 17 and resistor 11, and starting thyristors 13, 14 and resistor 12, respectively, are connected to field winding of synchronous motor field regulator. Mentioned resistors are connected by common terminal through protective thyristor 15 to secondary winding 24 of potential transformer 21. Semiconductor units 8, 19 are connected in parallel with field winding 5. Thyristor switch 20 is parallel-connected to ac leads of unit 19. Secondary winding 23 of potential transformer 21 is connected to ac terminals of rectifier unit 8. Device has time relay 18 connected to phase B of motor stator winding 2 and directly to supply mains 4 through circuit breaker 3. Normally open contacts 54 of time relay 55 are inserted in control circuits of thyristors 44, 45 of rectifier unit 19; normally closed contact of time relay is inserted in control system of switch 20.
