FIELD: machine engineering, possibly abrasive working of non-metallic materials.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cleaning belt at outlet of working zone by means of brush having two mutually insulated sections, each connected with separate electric current source; applying positive polarity pulses to abrasive belt and to brush for removing chips; changing polarity of pulses during pauses between them; then supplying onto surface of abrasive belt water vapor for wetting belt with use of jet mounted at boundary of sections normally relative to belt motion direction; soaking belt in order to provide exposure of abrasive grains no more than by 1/3 of their size.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of cleaning metallic substrate abrasive belts.
