FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of high-altitude power generating plants for conversion of energy of high-altitude air streams into electric energy. Proposed power-generating plant contains diffuser with windwheel whose blades are secured on bushing of axle of rotation and over periphery of blades in space of diffuser by means of rim engaging with at least one electric energy generator, and system to control orientation of power-generating plant relative to wind stream. Diffuser is made in form of ring-shaped housing consisting of inner rigid fixed rim and external elastic hermetic envelope connected with fixed rim. Envelope is divided by partitions into separate sections filled with gas lighter than air which accommodate independent nonsealed rigid housing with built-in running wheels connected with energy generators and installed for interaction of rigid running rim of windwheel.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of high altitude power generating plants, reduced specific cost of plant and produced energy at high altitude flying application, no adverse action on environment.
