FIELD: forestry and forestry selection.
SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting vertical bark strips in conjunction with cambium during initial period of growing of second generation leaves along trunk circumference of Karelian birch, along the entire length thereof, with width of strips and spacings therebetween making 1/12 the diameter of trunk; binding tree trunk with water-impermeable transparent material and holding it on tree up to the end of growing period.
EFFECT: increased decorative qualities of wood and reduced labor intensity.
