FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, construction formed from extension pipes defining hermetically closed channel between vacuum cleaner case and suction brush.

SUBSTANCE: construction has first extension pipe and second extension pipe connected with first extension pipe so as to rotate relative thereto, and flexible retaining member located adjacent to first extension pipe. Flexible retaining member has retaining projection adapted for selective insertion into multiplicity of retaining slots provided in first extension pipe to thereby selectively restrict rotation of first and second extension pipes with respect to one another. Pivot joint housing joined to one side of second extension pipe may turn in conjunction with second extension pipe for hermetic closing of pivot joint. According to second embodiment, unlocking handle is connected to two retaining members, each of which is equipped with retaining projection adapted for selective insertion into one of multiplicity of retaining slots.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified construction.
