FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: vacuum cleaner has suction part for sucking air flow containing foreign particles, main casing provided with channel for passage of air sucked through air suction part, suction means located within main casing and adapted for sucking air. Main casing is equipped with slot open toward at least top part of main casing and communicating with said channel. Dust catching device is positioned within main casing slot to form part of said channel and enabling catching of foreign particles. Dust catching device has retaining member with retaining steps provided at both ends thereof. Retaining steps are held by internal wall of main casing slot with the help of elastic force within retaining grooves adjacent to inclined guiding surfaces provided on internal walls of said slot. Dust catching device is positioned for displacement from upper part into lower part of main casing with following housing within said slot. Dust catching device has dust collector whose internal space is communicating with said channel, and closing unit detachably attached to upper end of dust collector for defining internal space thereof. Closing unit is equipped with retaining member. Suction member is pivotally connected to lateral side of main casing.

EFFECT: reliable attachment of dust catching device to main casing of vacuum cleaner, provision for constant communication between channels in dust catching device, convenient and simplified mounting and detachment of dust catching device from vacuum cleaner.
