FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises moving workpiece over the chute and affecting it by the jet of compressed air. The workpieces move along the inclined chute and affected by the jet directed at an angle to the side of the chute for permitting improperly oriented workpieces to be removed through the recess in the bottom of the chute and properly oriented workpieces to move forward along the chute. The device comprises nozzles for supplying air, chute for moving workpieces, and additional nozzle. The chute is inclined for permitting the workpieces to move along the chute under the action of gravity and is provided with the recess in the bottom section equal to 1.5-3 of the diameter of the workpiece. The nozzles are mounted on the sides of the chute. One of the nozzles is set at an angle of 10°-30° to the side of the chute for permitting improperly oriented workpieces to be removed through the recess by means of the air jet. The second nozzle is mounted from the opposite side at an angle 10°-30° to the side of the chute in the direction of motion for permitting the properly oriented workpieces to move forward.
