FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to machine building, particularly to control and correction for orientation of small-sized bar-shape parts with flatting at their one end during their machining. Illuminated part displaces over transfer chute inclined surface and video filmed. Part image is transmitted to computer and processed thereby. Processing comprises binary image segmentation and parameterization, detection of part to plot test rectangles at isolated image segment ends. Said test rectangles are analysed to make decision on part orientation. Proposed device comprises inclined transfer chute, video camera, light source, computer, actuator, controlled shutter and rotary actuator. Video camera output is connected to input of computer connected to actuator input, said actuator being connected with controlled shutter. Note here that said chute has a leg directed to rotary actuator.

EFFECT: uniform orientation of parts flow.
