FIELD: geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: method includes periodical irradiation of rock by pulses of fast neutrons generator, recording gamma-emission of non-resilient dissipation of neutrons and gamma-emission in real time scale during continuous movement of well device in given quantizing step along depth, accumulation of full amplitude-temporal spectrums of gamma-emission during given time cycle. On basis of amplitude-temporal spectrums, sent to surface, temporal spectrum of alteration of integral count speeds is calculated, and processed, results of which processing are then used to set limits of temporal ranges in real time scale and position these relatively to pulse generator of fast neutrons. Also, device for pulse neutron gamma-logging is described, containing in protective cover pulse generator of fast neutrons, scintillating gamma-emission detector, optically connected to photo-electronic multiplier, screen, analog-code conversion block, central processor unit block, transmitter-receiver block, memory blocks.
