FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: hydrofoil ship has above-water and underwater hulls connected by struts; hydrofoils are secured on hulls; weatherworks consists of two hulls connected by means of transverse beams; these hull are of standard shipboard lines at considerable deadrise; underwater portion has volume equal to about 70 percent of volume displacement of ship. Hulls together with connecting members and hydrofoils form rigid frame-truss structures. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg
