METHOD OF CONTROL OF A WATER-PETROLEUM MIXTURE SETTLING PROCESS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2262528 C1

FIELD: petroleum industry; methods and devices for control of a water-petroleum mixture settling process.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of automation of technological processes, in particular, to the methods and devices for control of a water-petroleum mixture settling process and can be used on installations of complex preparation of petroleum. The device contains a gauge to measure a difference of the hydrostatic pressure of the water-petroleum mixture in the separator - settler and the hydrostatic pressure of water in a pressure-water pipe placed in the separator - settler. The top end of the pressure-water pipe is located in a zone of accumulation of petroleum below an overflow partition, its other end is fused to the inlet of the gauge to measure a pressure difference. A connecting pipe is fused to another inlet of the pressure difference gauge for a pressure decrease in a zone of accumulation of water. The outlet of the pressure difference gauge is fused to an inlet of the control device, to the second inlet of which the given value of the pressure difference is fed, and the outlet of the control device is fused to a control valve located on a line of water drainage. At equality of heights of poles of these liquids the difference of their hydrostatic pressure depends on a share of water in water-petroleum mixture. Compare the measured value of the difference of hydrostatic pressures with the value of pressure given in the control device and according to a difference of these values form a control signal to the control valve on the line of water drainage. The technical result is improvement of quality of the control over the process of settling.

EFFECT: the invention ensures improvement of quality of the control over the process of settling.
